Henry Hardy

Henry, with his wife, Teresa, and three children, milk 40 head of registered Ayrshires twice a day on their organic dairy farm. He works in the woods doing selective cutting during the winter and makes maple syrup in the spring. Henry is currently the treasurer of the Franklin County Farm Bureau, the president of the New England and the Maine State Ayrshire Clubs and a Franklin County 4-H Dairy Club leader. He is also a past-president of Franklin County Extension Executive Board and has taught a tractor safety course for many years.

Pam Harnden

Pam has served on the Board since 1996. She is employed as a staff writer for the Sun Media Group. She is education-oriented and whenever possible, works with the children's programs.

Frank Forster

Frank joined the FCSWCD Board of Supervisors in February of 2011. Frank Forster and Lynn Ricardo purchased their farm in New Vineyard in 2002. They now raise black Angus beef cattle. Frank has served on the New Vineyard Board of Selectmen and the Franklin County Farm Bureau.

Bill Berry

I have been an associate member of the Soil and Water Conservation District for about 20 years.  I have been a part-time farmer with a herd of Herefords since 1975.  Having been a professor of Geology at UMF for 26 years I have experience in my background that relates directly to my work with soil and water conservation.

 
 

Robert John “Bob” Leso

Robert Leso Obituary

CHESTERVILLE - Robert “Bob” Leso, 82, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, due to a sudden vehicle accident. Bob lived a beautiful and fulfilling life, deeply enriched by the love and activities of his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Marian “Mimi” Leso, his cherished sons John and Andrew Leso, Andrew’s wife Morgan, and his adored grandsons Nolan and Jack Leso.

Bob found immense joy in participating in his family’s activities, from cello playing and art to basketball and baseball, creating countless memories filled with laughter and love. His passion for forestry and trees was a significant part of his life. He managed his white pine Tree Farm, grew and sold Christmas trees, and oversaw a deer yard apple release program behind his house. Trees, along with his sons and grandsons, were the heart of his life.

Professionally, Bob dedicated forty years as a Maine State Forester and continued to serve as the Tree Farm coordinator for Franklin County. His commitment to his community was evident through his 42 years on the Chesterville Planning Board, his service on the Soil and Water Conservation Board of Supervisors, and his membership in the Small Woodlot Owners Association.

Bob graduated from the University of Maine at Orono with a degree in forestry. He spent three years in the Peace Corps in Peru as a Spanish interpreter and served in the Armed Services in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Bronze Star.

Bob’s legacy of love, dedication, and passion for forestry will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.

Linton Robinson

Linton has been an Associate Supervisor since 1992. He owns and operates the 268-acre LDR Farm, in Chesterville, Jay, & Perkins Plantation. Linton worked on his father’s farm and lumbering business for several years before starting his own beef herd and forest harvesting business. Linton and his wife Diane have 3 grown sons. He is active with both the Franklin County Farm Bureau past president and vice president and the State Forestry committee. Linton is on the Chesterville Planning Board and has been a member of the Maine Beef Producers Feeder Calf Sales since 1988. He received the Woodland Conservation Award in 1988.

Nathan “Nate” Holt

Nate joined the board as an associate supervisor in the summer of 2022 and was elected as a board supervisor in the fall. Nate is a registered Engineer Intern in the State of Maine as well as a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) with a working background in stream restoration and crossing projects, stormwater design/management, and erosion and sedimentation control best practices. He graduated from the University of Maine in 2020 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering with a Concentration in Water Resources Engineering. He is passionate about improving and maintaining the watersheds of the western Maine mountains to help preserve for future generations
